poised gape of hollow portals

Breaking frail ingenuity
Calling on liberty
Stashed away in shame
Squashed flame
Of a smoked out butt
Damning the rheum flood.

Echoes fill the empty abyss
Vindicating the word of promise
Reality, a revered reverie
Time, it's corollary.

Piercing shards persist
Even in ignoble demolish.
Look at me and I exist.
Look away and I diminish.
Poised gape of hollow portals,
Perception lights the world of mortals.

adulthood means compromising..letting go the rebel in you.partly because you are up against more powerful forces as an adult..when you are a child somehow your world is smaller and maybe that makes it easier to rebel..growin up means learning to let go
it can make you a coward or it can make you come to terms with things..I dont know..as kids we think adults have all the answers..when we grow up we realise we are all powerless at some or the other point..life is so vast and so complex ..who can go through the entire gamut of experiences life throws at us..
and so many of us even fail to realise what is happening to us all the time all around us and how it impacts each one of us..
comin to growin up....from personal experience..it can be excruciatingly difficult..you are so dependent materially and emotionally on your immediate support system..parents..life spins out of control when that goes wrong..
Sheryl Crow sang..the first cut is the deepest.....
